The so-called “democratic” fools who dominate what used to be the West have now grown so addled that they will support literally anything calling itself a “democracy movement”, even if it is obviously their deadly enemy aiming to replace their ally — in this particular case Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak — with sharia, hence with jihad.
Out with dictatorship, in with human rights and liberal democracy – this is the so-called “thinking” of the neocons, who support the overthrow of the National Democratic Party.
Similarly, they supported the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, shoving it down the throats of George W. Bush and Benjamin Netanyahu. Now they are hysterical because the lack of a strong Sunni presence in Baghdad (i.e., the Ba’athists) has enabled the rise of Iran, thereby quite predictably endangering the neocons’ beloved “Little Satan”.
American President Barack Hussein Obama’s administration now supports “orderly transition” in Egypt — which means the destruction of America’s second-highest-funded ally (after Israel), and in essence a continuation of the Carter Administration’s support for the Islamic Revolution in Iran. (Quite naturally, the mullahs now support the “democracy” protests.)
It is likely that Obama’s personal motivation for supporting the overthrow of Mubarak is to some extent his own sympathy for the overt Marxism-Leninism of many of the American groups supporting the Egyptian uprising, as well as his personal sympathy for the Marxist-Leninist nature of some of the Egyptian protesters themselves.
Obama is clearly sympathetic to Arab jihadists (if not to Persian or white ones) as well as to Marxists, being a black nationalist who was reared a Muslim, and the likelihood of his having great personal sympathy for the Egyptian mobs’ goals cannot be overestimated.
In addition, Obama’s own attachment to post-colonialism and Third Worldism leads him and his entourage to champion the most anti-American forces around the world as the true voices of the disenfranchised, toiling Third World masses. As of now, they are merely objects on which Western forces act; Obama and his fellow post-American Leftists believe they can teach the Arabs to be independent of this baneful imperialism.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has adopted the same policy, as the post-modern European mind is entranced with post-colonialism. Meanwhile, Brit PM David Cameron is using the Egypt protests as evidence that “Western values and Islam can be entirely compatible”.
In reality, the West could not have emerged with her fleeting victory against Marxism-Leninism had it not been for the many military dictatorships supported by the United States in Latin America in the 1970′s and 1980′s as part of her containment regime.
Of course, all this is ancient history; what matters now is sponsoring as many Islamic revolutions and secessions as possible, though of course Christian secession from a Communist or Islamic state — as with Katanga or East Timor — is simply insufferable.
It goes without saying that a Muslim Brotherhood success in Egypt will lead to jihadist uprisings in Jordan and Saudi Arabia, where the Muslim Brotherhood are popular, and that it will weaken American allies in Iraq.
11th February, 2011 Update: It may be that the neocon Daniel Pipes – who, unlike many neocons, opposes the reconstruction of Iraq, de-Christianisation of the West, open borders, Muslim immigration to the West, and immediate free elections in the Dar al-Islam (since he, however absurdly, believes that turning the stone-throwing, IED-building jihadists into liberal democrats is a long-term process, as opposed to a clear impossibility) – was correct when he wrote that the Egyptian military, not the Muslim Brotherhood, would come out on top in the current mess.
Indeed, according to Vice President Omar Suleiman, President Mubarak has now resigned, leaving the military in power. It remains to be seen if protests will continue at the urging of Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood, and what sorts of laws the military will enact: Sharia is extremely popular with Egyptians, even more so than with Iranians or with Turks.

The Israeli Defense Forces are trained and equipped to confront Iran and fight on the mountainous terrain of Lebanon and Syria. After signing peace with Egypt in 1979, Israel scrapped the combat brigades trained for desert warfare, whose last battle was fought in the 1973 war, and stopped treating the Egyptian army as a target of military intelligence. Israel’s high command consequently knows little or nothing about any field commanders who might lead units if they were to be deployed in Sinai.
Israel’s policy-makers and military strategists are meanwhile acting on two basic assumptions:
1. Egypt’s new military rulers will not be keen to lose the US $1.3 billion military aid package or their access to state of the art technology, and the Obama administration will make continued assistance conditional on upholding the peace treaty with Israel.
DEBKAfile’s military and Washington sources are not absolutely sure President Obama will lay down this condition or that, if he does, the Egyptian army will accept it. Even if the peace relations are left in place during the regime’s first uncertain two or three months in Cairo, it is by no means certain they will survive thereafter.
The new rulers may be influenced by oil-rich Saudi Arabia’s latest policy turn. As DEBKAfile reported exclusively Thursday, Feb. 10, King Abdullah was so incensed by Washington’s abandonment of his friend and ally Hosni Mubarak that he ordered the kingdom’s diplomatic and military ties with Iran upgraded and strengthened. It is anyone’s guess today whether the generals in Cairo opt for Washington or decide to patch up Mubarak’s quarrel with the ayatollahs instead.
Riyadh can easily afford to make up for the loss of American aid to Egypt. Abdullah made that same offer to Mubarak if he stood fast against American pressure for his resignation, promising him a Saudi dollar for American dollar.
2. Israel is counting on Gen. Omar Suleiman – overlord of Egypt’s intelligence branches and for eight days, Mubarak’s Vice President – to keep faith after many years of close cooperation in safeguarding the peace relationship. Suleiman is one of the top three members of the High Army Council now ruling Egypt, alongside Defense Minister Field Marshal Mohammed Tantawi and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Sami Al-Anan.
DEBKAfile: Israel may be barking up the wrong tree. When Suleiman was elevated to VP, Jerusalem hoped he would come out of the Egyptian uprising as the coming man. Friday, Mubarak’s resignation left him stripped of his new title.
His footing in the top army command council is far from certain. It is to be expected that once firmly in power, the top generals will start jockeying for the top spot. Suleiman and Tantawi have long been rivals and Mubarak often stepped in to resolve their arguments, usually in the former’s favor which the latter won’t forget. Since Tantawi is no fan of Israel, Suleiman may decide to promote his own chances by avoiding being seen as overly pro-Israeli or pro-American. Jerusalem may therefore find a closed door when seeking him out.
This is bound to happen soon because of the chaotic free-for-all launched in Sinai while all eyes were on Cairo.
Indeed while a military coup was in progress in the Egyptian capital, Iran, Hamas and Al Qaeda’s Middle East networks were fully engaged in violently reducing the Egyptian presence outside the southern Sharm el-Sheik pocket and beginning a process of annexation to the Gaza Strip starting in North Sinai. This is part of Iran’s new strategy, seized on during the upsets in Cairo, to expand the Hamas state and shift the crux of Palestinian governance from Ramallah to Gaza City.
While this was going on, Hamas and Al Qaeda terrorists along with drug and human traffickers were free to infiltrate Israel, using the flow of thousands of illegal job-seekers smuggled across the lawless Sinai border.
Even the limited control Suleiman asserted over this traffic has gone.
The Netanyahu government in Jerusalem must therefore think fast and make quick decisions about Sinai. Will the military regime in Cairo take action to bring Sinai under control? Or will Israel be reduced to sending drones or special forces across the border for covert action to cut down the threats building up to its security?

15th February, 2011: According to the Iranian-born journalist Amir Taheri, writing on President Mubarak’s legacy to Egypt in Mr. Taheri’s 12th February, 2011 NY Post article Curse of the Mummy, the Muslim Brotherhood have penetrated the Egyptian police and military with the help of the Mubarak government since the early 1990s:
In early 1990s, to counterbalance pro-democracy groups, Mubarak started wooing Islamists including the Muslim Brotherhood.
State-owned media gave much airtime to religious propaganda. Government money helped build thousands of new mosques and financed hundreds of Koranic schools and theological colleges. Though technically illegal, The Muslim Brotherhood was allowed to extend its tentacles throughout society, including the armed forces and police. In the previous general election, the “outlawed” Brotherhood was assigned 80 seats in the parliament.
Not surprisingly, as the pro-democracy movement started calling for change, the Brotherhood opened negotiations with Mubarak to save the mummified system of which suited hem both.
The uprising that drove Mubarak away was, at least in part, an attempt by Egyptians to get away from the suffocating religious mummy created by the Rais (president).
Thus, the prior distinction made on this blog between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian military may be wrong.

It appears George Soros’s Open Society Institute is behind the riots, and that it supports the Muslim Brotherhood. From KeyWiki:
Many are asking who started the riots in Egypt around Jan. 25, 2011, including Walid Phares on Fox News. Phares stated that he believed it was bloggers on Facebook who began the riots.
In April of 2010, a weekly magazine aiming to link Arab bloggers with politicians, the elderly and the elite was launched in Egypt. The weekly Wasla – or “The Link” – is being heralded as a first for the Arab world, with plans for articles by bloggers as a way of giving them a wider readership.
Wasla is published by the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information and is financially supported by the Open Society Institute created by none other than George Soros.[25]
In the 1st edition of Wasla, the cover featured Mohamed ElBaradei. ElBaradei is Wasla’s chosen candidate and he is also supported by the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran. George Soros and ElBaradei both sit on the Board of Trustees for the International Crisis Group. Radio talk show host Michael Savage lays out in detail the ICG’s ties to the current Islamic uprising in Egypt.[26] In a June 2008 report entitled, “Egypt’s Muslim Brothers Confrontation or Integration,” ICG urges the Egyptian regime to allow the Muslim Brotherhood to participate in political life.[27]
Soros’ Open Society also funded the main opposition voice in Tunisia, Radio Kalima, which championed the riots there that led to the ouster of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

You know what is ironic, or perhaps just “interesting” — And I recall this specifically from 2004 — When B.H.Obama first came to national attention, lots of people thought he was Egyptian. “He looks Egyptian”, I recall one TV commentator saying.
He does bear a vague resemblance to the racially-mulatto Anwar Sadat.

If the Egyptians wish to live under sharia law, I am prepared to accept that as their decision, as long as they do not support its imposition on Western nations. But a more mundane possibility exists for their recent overthrow of Mubarak: they simply want to become the same sort of brainless, consumerist, internet-surfing, sex-crazed, vacation-loving, narcissistic, ahistorical buffoons that most of us in the West have become. If that in fact is their real motivation, we have little to worry about. A nation made up of people like that has no pith.

Fifth Columnist, I would go further than you by stating that I wish we Westerners cut off thieves’ hands and beheaded murderers like the adherents of sharia, or at least shot them in the head like the Chinese Communists, who — ever since the Revolution of 1949 — have enforced Napoleon’s penal code consistently.
I personally find stoning for adultery and fornication a wee tad harsh, but things have certainly gotten out of control, as you say. I also find that the sharia requirement that women produce four male witnesses to avoid being automatically convicted of fornication when they make their accusations of rape makes it virtually impossible to prosecute even violent rape under sharia.
All of this notwithstanding, the main problem with sharia, for us at least, is that the communal obligation to jihad is inherent in sharia. The recent Westernisation of sharia has led to the artificial creation, through abuse of ijtihad (i.e. individual interpretation of Islamic theological sources by Islamic jurists in their rulings), of a personal obligation to engage in jihad against all non-Muslims — even friendly ones.
This alien, individualistic obligation to engage in jihad against all the “dirty kuffar” (as the rap song goes) has led to the new phenomenon of Sudden Jihad Syndrome (SJS) by Muslim immigrants living in the Dar al-Harb, such as the notorious Trolley Square shooting in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, by a Bosniac so-called “refugee”, that claimed five innocent lives and wounded four innocent bystanders.
(This little example of multiculturalism and diversity in action occurred the day after the Bosniac jihadist in question, Sulejman Talovic, told his girlfriend he had just had a vision of a white horse.
The white horse is known as “Al-Buraq” ["The Lightning"] in the Qur’an, and one sura [chapter] of the Qur’an, “The Night Journey” ["Al-Isra"], deals with Mohammed’s mythological ride on the back of the white horse from “the Sacred Mosque to the Furthest Mosque”. “The Sacred Mosque” is widely assumed by Muslims to be the Al-Haram Mosque in Mecca. “The Furthest Mosque” was assumed by the early ulema, on the basis of a hadith, to be the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem ["Al-Quds" in Arabic] — an assumption which has been maintained by later generations of Muslims.
From Jerusalem, the Qur’an states, Mohammed was accompanied by the Angel Gabriel ["Jibril" in Arabic] to Paradise ["Jannah" in Arabic], possibly using a ladder ["mi'raj"]. [See in the Qur'an under the sura entitled "Al-Mi'raj", "The Ladder".]
According to Islamic mythology, the white horse came from Paradise and carried the Prophets [Nabi] who, according to Islamic lore, preceded the false prophet Mohammed. Because the suras “The Night Journey” and “The Ladder” are closely intertwined for Muslims, Talovic would have seen the white horse as a symbol of Paradise — hence martyrdom.
Thus, we can tell that Mr. Talovic — whose shahid father was a member of the Albanian-jihadist Kosovo Liberation Army [UCK] — was engaging in premeditated jihad with the goal of achieving martyrdom when he shot up the mall at Trolley Square.)
Sarfraz Sarwar, an advocate of sharia living in Essex, pointed out recently that he admires the Victorians and considers himself to be both British and Muslim, because the Victorians enacted a penal code he considers to be sharia, and he blamed “Too many goody-two-shoes talking about human rights” for the decline of British society, which is indeed much of the problem.
Even the so-called “fascist” BNP has not proposed reintroducing such a penal code, although it has rather sensibly proposed reintroducing badly needed corporal punishment into schools, as well as desperately needed capital punishment for (only the worst) criminals.

I defer to Wandering White’s knowledge of Islam and its requirements — a knowledge that is much deeper than mine. But I think that our exchange shows that we in the West who are still loyal to our racial and cultural identity are of two minds about Moslem religion and culture.
On the one hand, we know that Islam is our traditional and hereditary enemy. It has been this way since the days of Charles Martel, the Crusades, the Reconquista of Spain, the expulsion from Granada, Lepanto, and the siege of Vienna. In any and all of those fights, we would have been on the Christian side. And it may well be the case again in the future that we have to fight the Moslem enemy.
On the other hand, we live in a West that is so corrupted and debased by liberalism (in the American sense of that word), post-Enlightenment upheavals, mass democratization, and countercultural garbage that we look with a certain wistful longing at those cultures in the non-Western world that still retain elements of sanity. Consider how the Anglican Church in Africa has stood up courageously against the faggotry and pervert-coddling that the official Church of England now tolerates. A twit like Rowan Williams would never be tolerated by African Anglicans. Or see how the Peruvians locked up that left-wing dilettante Lori Berenson for twenty years. Would any court in Great Britain or the U.S. have had the tripes to do that?
And so, in a similar manner, we see the salutary harshness of traditional Moslem societies and we ask “What’s so bad about it?” And the fact that the vilest of neocon scum have perpetrated these pointless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan precisely to turn these nations into fun-loving, “democratic,” tolerant left-liberal societies naturally makes us sympathetic to those on the receiving end of this “civilizing mission.”
As I tell my conservative friends here in the U.S., “The Moslems may be our long-term enemies. But they are not necessarily our short-run enemies.” And believe it or not, there’s always plenty to learn from your enemy.

Fifth Columnist, I must disagree with you regarding the Islamic threat, and state my belief that the Islamic hordes, led by Sheikh Qaradawi and guided by the Muslim Brotherhood “Project” are only preparing the groundwork for the demise of our corrupted, decadent culture through civilisational jihad. Their present actions are designed to make the future life-and-death military conflicts unwinnable. You must begin to fight now, or else consider the battle for the West to be lost to the ages.
As it is, we Brits have quite literally a royal idiot next in line to be king, one who: proudly quoted Muslim nomads in the course of publicly denouncing Galileo, science, and capitalism; publicly defended the 7/7 bombers immediately after the London tube bombing; dressed as a Muslim in public. Perhaps the Muslims who have “invited” the royals to Islam shall get their wish before too long, at least in the case of Prince Charles.
In case your view of Islam is coloured by the relatively early stage of the cancer in the United States — at least as compared with what is happening in Britain or on the Continent — I advise you to read a book, Stealth Jihad: How Radical Islam Is Subverting America Without Guns or Bombs by an American author and activist of Turkish Melkite origin with expertise in Islam (of whom you have probably heard), Robert Spencer.
I also encourage you to join the anti-sharia organisation ACT! for America. Our version is called Act! for Britain, and it is one of the few organisations standing up to the Muslims, along with the English, Scottish, and Welsh Defence Leagues and the Eurosceptic parties UKIP and BNP, both of which fared badly in the last election.
On a lighter note, I must agree with you that Rowan Williams is a moral relativist; an Anglophobe; an Islamophile who shows no concern for persecuted Christians; a supporter of militant poofs and other perverts; and an overall nauseous twit.

Well, I shall certainly read the book in question. I have no doubt that there is a real threat to the Western world out there from radical Islam, and as I have said, if we have to fight them, so be it.
My larger point, however, is our own corruption and debility — the intellectual slovenliness and lack of self-respect that makes thousands of silly white British women marry Moslems, and submit to their religion. What in bloody hell is going on? Why should something like that happen? Why has the Prince of Wales made the fatuous statements that you report? Why are left-liberal idiots in the mainstream media and academia falling all over themselves to be humble and servile before the Islamic threat? As long as this bizarre situation continues, I don’t see how we can ever hope to avoid cultural disintegration.
In short, although radical Moslems are a problem, the deeper and more intractable problem is Western decay and decline, which is now (in Europe at least) at the gangrenous stage. If you can’t make white people proud to be white people, nothing else really matters. And I mean REALLY proud — overtly, aggressively, and in-your-damned-black-face-proud–not merely tolerant and benign.

Fifth Columnist, I certainly agree that much of the fault lies with whites. Your first comment on this blog was devoted to my comment on the post-Reformation, post-Enlightenment decline of the West, so you of all people should see that I cannot and will not blame the Mohammedans for all our problems.
However, much as the Soviets sought to convert pre-existing weak-kneed FDR liberals into Marxist-Leninists, the Muslims seek to take advantage of the legacies of Antonio Gramsci (regarded worshipfully by the Soviets), the cultural Marxists, and the multiculturalists. Their goal is two-fold: To destroy Western civilisation from within, and to replace it with Salafism.
Judging by the favourable view of Islam and Muslims held by the post-modern Left, and even by many so-called “conservatives” and “traditionalists”, I believe the jihadists are well on their way to accomplishing these goals, at least in Britain and on the Continent.
I was recently informed by a friend in the States that the foolhardy white female American CBS correspondent Lara Logan was sexually assaulted by a crowd of Egyptians screaming “Jew!” in Cairo.
Apparently, the Leftist media in your country, much as in ours, have not seen fit to withdraw their support for the so-called “democracy protesters”, for fear of colouring the ignorant Anglo-American yobs’ perception of the Religion of Peace. Logan had to be airlifted out of Egypt because of the low level of confidence in the security surrounding her. Where is the outrage at these jihadi pigs from the so-called “feminist community”? Perhaps they are too busy harassing heterosexual white men to care.

You are absolutely right about the mealy-mouthed hypocrisy of feminists in regard to this sexual assault on Lara Logan. If it had been perpetrated by white males, we would be seeing fireworks of sulphurous indignation. But since it was the work of our little brown brothers, well… they get the free pass that the left always gives to The Poor and Suffering Victims of Oppression. The fact that ideological feminists are largely silent concerning nonwhite-on-white sex crimes is just another symptom of that self-hating poison that infects the West today.
Really, Wandering White, we have no basic disagreements, just differences in emphasis.
